imo wired is the best way to go. i have 2 ps3's one wired and one wireless. the wired one i have no troubles at all. it seems to load, sign in, and download faster than the one wireless. but wireless isnt bad either if you have the right setup.

Wired is safer, no random logouts, and less lag

Same with wired microphones. I can always tell when someone is talking on a wireless bluetooth. Sounds like crap.
I use a wireless controller....and sometimes it shuts off randomly. Always a nice way ti get killed....lol.

I've never had a problem with wireless that couldn't be traced back to my connection as a whole (thus affecting my computer's wired internet too). Sure, there are occasional internet drops, but it's not bad or frequent enough for me to want to put my router and PS3 in close enough proximity to use wired internet.

I swear by wired all the way.
I too have two ps3s, one in the lounge and one in my room. The one in my room is wired - downloads are faster, I don't get the "connection problem" message, the media server works perfectly and it seldom lags.
The one in the lounge tends to lag and the "connection problem" message comes up more often than I'd like it to. It sometimes lags with the media server too which can be annoying.
