Not meaning to moan but don't you think the boards are so diversified now that the general discussion board has almost become redundant? There is a category for nearly anything you can think of that the general discussion has become more of a "day time talkshow with no one"  And everyone here, apart from certain people, seem a bit timid to have a general discussion of any substance. well, the whole point of a general discussion board is to be a catch all for topics that don't belong anywhere else. So naturally as more specific sections pop up there will be less variety of topic here. I don't think that's a bad thing though. It's better than the alternative of a crapload of unrelated topics that you have to wade through to find something specific.

Yea I certainly see your point. I just didn't want people who started some of the more wild and random posts to potentially start getting flamed. Personally I have nothing against these topics, since they keep things interesting and fun  . However as you can see for instance, some members on the contrary may not like these types of topics. |

It doesn't take much imagination or effort to get flamed on these boards as there are some members who's primary contribution here is to undermine and berate others posts. That's the way it is with any MSG board as it is with life in general. As with real life, we have the option to ignore or feed negativity. Though I wouldn't say anything has killed the general disscussion area as it seems more active than ever. We already know what it is that we all have in common, this is just a means of expanding that.
