Here's the rules I think we've agreed on.
Game Rules -2/3 for each mode (not HTDM). The winner of 2 modes is the overall winner -No heroes -Ballistae, catapults, etc. are allowed -Horses and Wargs are allowed when both teams have equal access to them. -Trolls and Ents are allowed when both teams have equal access to them (No one has said anything about this, so I assume it's fine, right?)
Stage Rules
-The first stage is the first legal stage in the EA server rotation. -Further stages are chosen by the team that lost the previous round (If you'd rather just play the EA maps in a row, then say so. Counter-picking might take longer, but I think it'd make things more interesting) -The losing team chooses their team for the next game
Banned Stages:
Minas Tirith- Conquest Pellenor Fields- Conquest Mines of Moria- TDM Isengard- TDM Shire- CTR Pellenor Fields- CTR
Chat Rules
-Do not enter any server until it is announced in the chat. -One main chat will hold the 16 players participating in the current game -You may have a chat open for your own clan's use -When in the server, do not join a team until instructed to in the chat. This allows for disputes to be settled and substitutes to be put in. If you join the game, then the Warm-Up starts, and the game clock will start winding down. -The first team arrangement will be decided in the chat -The team arrangement will be announced in the chat before the game starts. If you join the wrong team and refuse to change, your team has the option of taking the loss and keeping you, or invalidating the current game and expelling the player from the match (s/he cannot return for the duration of the war).
Also, guys, how do you think we should deal with potential disconnects and randoms possible filling the slots?

those rules are fine. I think we should just do watever 3 maps are first for each mode unless it's one of the maps that are banned, then we'll just skip it. this would save alot of time

I prefer having counterpicking. It adds an interesting strategic element.

I think it's worth trying, but the time it'll take could be quite long.

well, I think it'll be a good chance to see how it works and possibly come up with new ideas to refine it in the future.

I like counter picking as well; however, I do agree that it could take awhile especially if the picked map is for example 7 or even more maps further down in the map rotation. If we don't decide to go with counter picking maps, the losing team could perhaps still at least choose the side for the next map. Regarding maybe 1 or 2 random people joining, I think this can be expected if we don't have a full 8 vs 8 match. A potential problem I see, is that at the start of the match when both teams are still discussing which sides to select for example, a couple of randoms may already select a side and of course start the the warm-up countdown. The bigger problem would be that after the randoms join, that all present team members from both clans wouldn't be able to join. If this happens, we can perhaps go to a different server. Also Joppi had asked about servers disconnecting. If this happens, I say likewise we can go to another server to complete any remaining rounds/maps. It should be easy to coordinate since both teams are in chat. Speaking of randoms, I remember Demon mentioned he had a random purposefully sabotage his match. He kept killing himself. Although I doubt this will happen, but if it does, I say the results of the round would be invalid, and we can all leave and redo the round at another server. Another possible way a "random" could ruin the results of the match is purposefully allowing the other team to kill him, which would make a huge difference in a TDM match (this would be much more difficult to discern versus a random continually killing himself). Again considering a random purposefully followed Demon to multiple matches to sabotage him, although unlikely, I think anything may possibly occur during our match. So just in case, it may be good to have a backup plan. Regarding heroes, instead of passing the hero or choosing no, it may be best to select the hero and immediately kill him (jumping down a pit, getting out of bounds, or simply select "respawn"). If we all select no to the hero, this option may then go to a random on your team. If a random by any chance gets the hero, I would say the round would then be invalid. So a team doesn't abuse this rule, perhaps by purposefully all selecting no so the random gets the hero because their loss is inevitable, I say it would be a good habit/rule to select and kill the hero. Also another situation is if it was 8 vs 7 + 1 random. The team with all 8 members could all select no to the hero (again because there's not a random on their team); however, this wouldn't be fair to the 7 member team who would need to select and kill the hero to prevent the random from getting it (which gives them a -1 to their score). So again, it may be best and fair for both teams to select and kill the hero. Also, if any clan members (not randoms) during the match attacks or supports (e.g. heal/shield) his/her team member(s) with the hero, I say that's an automatic round loss for their entire team. Just some thoughts and suggestions

Good luck guys, clan battles are hard as hell to pull off in lotr. I have tried several and it drains me , bc it takes so long for 1 match to get organized.

yes the first match always takes awhile, and it should be 8 v 8 so there shouldn't be any randoms. bm i'll send you a chat invite around 6:30 eastern. so we can figure out what maps were goin to use...

awesome thanks rizen
Finally issue of troll and ent has not been official? troll is far superior than ent for reasons that I am sure you are all aware of.
so is trolls and ents allowed? and who gets to pick trolls? etc... we got about 3-4hours to decide lol

I agree with you Sam, trolls are far superior. The only problem I see about banning trolls and ents is an enforcement issue due to a potential random player using them. I like Joppi's suggestion about this: "Trolls and Ents are allowed unless one team has uneven access to them (in a stage like the Shire Conquest, where there is one source of trolls and ents, they are still allowed since both teams have equal access to the source CP)." Joppi had suggested Minas Tirath (conquest) and Pelennor (TDM) as banned stages, so one team having unequal access to ents/trolls shouldn't be an issue. Personally I prefer little to no rules; however, having regulations to make things as fair as possible for both teams especially in a more formal match such as this is understandable.

As far as randoms go, I think we should avoid them at all costs. Like, if a random shows up 3/4s through a match because some guy DC's accidentally, then we don't have to freak out about it, but if said random either a) does considerably better than many members of his team (if the random team wins) or b) earns an incredibly low KDR (if they lose), then we should invalidate the results of the match. If 3-4 people on one team disconnect, then I think it's fair to invalidate the match. However, this should only be allowed to happen once for each team, to prevent people from just mass-disconnecting whenever they're losing.
This is a good idea if your team has a random player, but if it doesn't, this is just hurting the team that got a hero, especially in TDM.
Even without the troll, Evil just has this level raped. The Good team really doesn't stand a chance against a competent team.
As far as Troll/Ent balance, I think it's not a huge deal, but it's something worth considering. It's somewhat like the Hobbit Archer/Regular Archer balance. Trolls are definitely better, but it's not by so much that it ruins the game. I'm on the fence here, so whatever everyone else wants is fine.

This is a good idea if your team has a random player, but if it doesn't, this is just hurting the team that got a hero, especially in TDM. I see what you're saying, but I was also thinking of possible 8 vs 7 + 1 random match. The team with all 8 could just pass the hero, but the team with the random would be forced to kill the hero (-1). So if both teams killed the hero, it would be more fair since of course each would receive a negative one. Now if both teams didn't have a single random, everyone passing the hero would be understandable.
