It's a project by stanford(Pretty sure). They put out a protien folding program. And rather then buy a supercomputer, stanford decided to let people who wantted to could protien fold at home with their ps3's uber amazing processer.

...ok. That's pretty obscure. I mean, I suppose if you were working in that or a related field that might be cool. But...why would anyone want to do that, like, for fun?

its a good way to help in my opinion its for fun all you do is when not playing your ps3 you let it run on folding home and go to bed and what not - Which diseases or biomedical problems are you currently studying? - Alzheimer's Disease (AD) - Huntington's Disease (HD) - Cancer and P53 - Osteogensis imperfecta - Parkinson's Disease (PD) - Antibiotics folding.stanford.edu/English/FAQmy step dad's dad had alzheimer and my wifes dad has cancer

i agree jb. it is a worthy cause. i signed up for a team when i 1st got my ps3. i admit that i dont run folding at home like i should but i do believe in the cause. it may turn out that the cure for cancer was made possible by the power of the ps3.
