I dare you to button mash against a competent opponent in SCIV. You'll Whiff, and be creamed.

Dude Soul Caliber is the biggest button masher of them, even worse then Tekken. I went over my girlfriends house and beat her a few times and I didn't even know what I was doing.

Soul Caliber is for sure. Can't argue with that. Not saying that it doesn't take skill (Yash), but button mashing is very prominent in that series. I find it curious, however, that you think Tekken is a button masher. That's your opinion though. Virtua Fighter is an old favorite. Been a fan since the original arcade version. VF5 has some of the best A.I. I've seen in any game. Period.

I'd Say Soul Caliber way more then Tekken, but I also feel tekken has some button masher quailtys too. The only Tekken game I've owned is Tekken Tag tournament, I never really learned the game and I beat it with every character but doing jump kicks and random grabs.

Hmm, I'll tell you this much, In virtua fighter that's a nono. It's a truly strategic fighting game. You do that, be prepared for your opponent to counter, string you up and finish you with a barrage of difficult combo's.

I never once mentioned VF, I have no opinion on that game.

To me Soul Caliber's custom characters alone is worth the price of admission. Cat-Tooth and I stayed up till morning cracking each other up with our customs and had some intense battles as well. I was LOL'ing like a motherfucker!!! ;D ;D ;D We even had some of the same creations! ;D

I said, if ur playing sum1 who knows wat they're doing, you'll get creamed. But in trkkrn, I found that while I was Button Mashing, noone could beat my, not even my freind with the game. -_-

Fair enough Hanz. I myself like the look of 2d fighters more. So, has anyone played Darkstalkers 3 ?

I'm behind on my downloads but I'll DEFINITELY be getting Marvel vs Capcom asap. I played a TON of that on xbox and even though I didn't get quite as pro as some of my friends I'd like to think I'm not a noob either.. I'll definitely be rusty though... As for the rest of them I got both SF4 & the SF2 HD Remix (which I'd almost like better if it had real super moves). I haven't played NEARLY enough of either of them. Broly's already creamed me a couple times in SF4. The first time I didn't even remember my buttons.. The second I did a little better but still could barely do my supers.. Button mashers with no idea what they're doing can often do surprisingly well, but never question the skill that it would take to master a game like Soul Calibur. Every character has like 300 moves! You can play that game for YEARS and still see moves you've never seen before! I can't even play that game online unless its with somebody I know cuz the guys who play that are INVINCIBLE. You'll get juggled for the entire game and never land a single hit! I DO love that game though and would always be down to play if any of you guys have it.. I never got too into Tekken or Virtua Fighter but I had Heihachi in that old Soulcalibur and have been interested to get into them... I'm still really pissed that Dead or Alive isn't on playstation anymore.. The playcontrol got worse with every installment but 2 & 3 were the smoothest fighting games EVER! Is there a Darkstalkers on Playstation?

Well, it is very easy to button mash in Soul Calibur, but it's a LOT easier for the other guy to break out of it than it is in a 2D fighter. All they have to do is sidestep, punish, and destroy someone who clearly only knew one or two moves going in. In a 2D game it's a lot harder to slip away since you can only move in one direction.
Burnz, I wish I had SCIV for the PS3 so I could play you and show off my crazy guys too, but I got it for my 360. If I ever see it cheap I might pick it up for PS3 too, is there a decent community? Almost everyone on 360 is STILL just Killik or Cervantes spamming the same 2 moves over and over, both of which are either easy to beat or throw you off completely when you face someone playing those characters who actually knows how to use them.
Anyway, if any of you guys who got MvC2 want to play against a self-admitted low-talent player, let me know. You shall face the might of Team Robot!
