We may need to make some changes to our servers in order to (a) make it more affordable and (b) improve our coverage area. It may not be possible without more money and resources to get a perfect connection for everyone, so we'd like to know where the majority of our users are. If we have to compromise, we want to cover as many users as possible.
We may consider at some point opening up an additional server in the US or moving the one we've got to the East Coast. (However, for the time being, I don't think we can afford it.)
We are also interested in what sort of ping you get (a good estimation of your connection speed to our games). How to 'ping' our server: - On Windows XP and similar systems, click Start->Run and type 'cmd'. - On Windows 7 and similar systems, click 'Start' and search for 'cmd.exe' in the search bar, and run it. You should see a black window with white text come up with a command-line prompt. Type ping cnqreboot.info and hit enter. The last line should tell you the amount of time it took for your computer to send some data to ours. There will be 3 values - the minimum, the average, and the maximum. Just tell us what the middle one (average) was. It should be something like "100ms", for example. Also mention where you're from.
If you get a ping of 150ms or more, or if your connection just seems really slow, you might want to check out the "For those with lag" thread.
Thanks for your help - we're trying so hard to do the best we can for everyone!

-=TLF=-Mayhem - stop posting the same thing slightly before me! If you're curious what your connection to the old EA servers was, ping pogo.com - it's run by EA and that's where you connect when logging in to EA Nation (and I'm guessing the game servers were in the same place). ^ Approximately 120ms. So apparently our connection to the old EA servers wasn't too hot, but I only noticed occasional lag. For example on EA servers I would sometimes have problems with an axe throw not registering, or trouble zooming in as an archer, and always had to hit 'jump' a bit in advance in order to get up quickly in HTDM from fire arrows. I consider this 100% playable.

To the best of my knowledge, Tunngle does not change your ping - it merely connects you to other people in the same network and everything is peer-to-peer from there. Anyway it would be poor design if all the data sent between players had to be passed through a Tunngle server. They'd need mega server capacity and there's just no need for it.
