When i bought lortc a while back i bought it strictly for online play.I beat it the first day i had it.Both sides. Then after that i didnt play story anymore until a couple days ago.I played on legendary mode.It might be me but,the game was intense. Its was kinda like playing players that use to be online.Warriors can get kinda hard to beat.Archers are on point.Mages are stupid.Scouts will backstab your ass. There isnt no (ill beat this map with one life shit). If you say you did you would be lieing.I dont care who you are.I cought hell for a little while at mount doom.Playing as a nasgul an i had to get 20 kills. Those warriors were bringing it.two or three at a time.It was fun to play lotr again.I really got into it and ended up playing for a few hours.Legendary mode is the shit. The competition is pretty decent.i did pretty good though.i was just wondering about how other players played on legendary mode and just own everyone or you probably didnt.Honestly i didnt own.Its about staying alive.Theyreally gang bang your ass on legendary mode.Tell me your story about playing on legendary mode.Killa Legend out.

I never played legendary for the same reasons you mentioned (bought the game for online, jumped in right after I beat both campaigns). To be honest I wouldn't even want to, mainly because I don't want to feel the pangs of nostalgia, but also because the difficulty you're alluding to is just an illusion: the computer is still stupid, it just has a lot more health and the enemies stand around less (meaning they attack you more and in greater numbers). It'll never be the same as matching wits with other human players.

lol except the scout AI for some reason compared to everything else its completely on a different lvl (mainly because you can die with one scout combo)
for me though i found it to be a good preping tool before i jumped into online match. especially when i would stop playing for extended periods of time the damage you do is reduced and the damage you take is increased more than you could take when fighting online ( helps with survivablity in battles since your used to conserving your life since you have a limited amount)
now what amazing training if fighting the legendary heros with regular classes. though the AI for heros kinda suck try to beat them with only one life ( i tell you you might think its easy but moria and the balrog will give some challenge with a warrior
lol and try to get 20 kills with gimli in a htdm match with legendary AI. you will be ks'ed more times than not

the only difficult part in the evil campain 1st match is when your sacrificing orcs to revive the witch king you pretty much have to knock out all the grunt ai's since the warrior ai is set to guard and the mages heal the guarding warriors. and of course doing it in 2 mins isnt any help at all

I got into playing single player instant action on legendary for about an hour.... then I got bored. The dynamics just aren't there. I've played through the campaign at least 3 or 4 times and in general I prefer playing 1v1s and 2v2s on somebody's laggy private server than trying to take on 100 AI units. For me the game is/was about trying to outsmart/outplay real people.
