Is there any chance of LOTRC returning online? Part of me still wants to petition and fight, but I know there is almost no chance of it.
Thoughts?

I think it's gone. It had a good run and gave us great memories. Part of me still has a fool's hope, though...

not happening. At least, EA won't do it. If there's any chance it would be someone renting servers, but that idea never really went anywhere.

I'm going to write them a letter but unless you know someone who's got connections I think we're done for.

However much the gamer in me is sad at it...it's kind of a good thing. Its death is going to let me concentrate on other things, things that were somewhat neglected because of LoTR. I loved that game to death, but to all good things must come and end, and it's then time to move on. So, I kinda hope it stays dead. ...though that isn't to say that if it somehow magically gets resurrected I won't be back in a jiffy

Define good run, the game was online for a little over a year which to me in excusable, Yeah we had fun playing it and we had good times, but It did not in my opinion have a good run. Way too short. EA should be ashamed of themselves. I normally buy NBA live every year but I switch to NBA2k out of spite

I meant good run as in everyone had fun. But it terms of length, it had a HORRIBLE run. EA sucks...

ronjons & I were talking and we started wondering whether you could somehow get a "patch" put on to the "Indie" games section (referring to the Xbox games marketplace) which would allow you to play LotR online via private servers (e.g. a "fake" EA nation or a LAN option). You'd need EA to release their software, but having a "patch" means they wouldn't have to release it to the general public (I guess the people developing such a patch would need to start an "organization" which could enter into some kind of legal agreement). If that's something that's possible, I'm in.

I'd be in. I can't help much, but if I can help in any way, tell me.

Is their any way of using XBConnect to run LOTR? XBConnect is like a third person party's Xbox Live--here's the link: www.xbconnect.com/
