Joppi_J
Have to mention you first and foremost. We've been playing together since the first time I tried to create TM7, way back in the early gamefaqs days. Back then I had just come off being number 1 on the conquest leaderboards, the best mage in the game by a large margin (I was using strats players today still don't use), and I felt bored and burned out and was ready to trade the game in because I felt like I had accomplished everything I wanted to and would ever want to.
But playing with you, along with the hope that one day I would be able to create my clan once more players caught up to where we were, kept me playing. With rizen, we formed the original Rape Crew, tearing through servers on the same team, and we still use the chat we made for that so many months ago as our private chat.
The brief tournament frenzy that occurred around that time also got me back into the game. Teaming up for my 2v2 tournament, all those hours spent discussing strategy in friend servers, scouting out maps, brought us even closer together, and paved the way for much more fs buttsecks to come. I got a mic then just so we could improve our teamwork, and we've been talking ever since.
Of course, the next time we would convene in friend servers for countless hours was during the out-of-map frenzy. There were some really memorable and exhilarating moments during our search - the ones that come to the forefront of my mind are cracking rivendell, and then our pièce de résistance, cracking The Black Gate (legit, no scout/warrior backstab glitch), and then fucking with bronco and yash once they joined, saying we discovered infinite invisibility because we were so far off the map that we didn't show up on radar.
It was around that time that we were probably at the height of our abilities relative to everyone else, and playing the most together. The golden age, so to speak. It was some time around then that Yoppi_Y was born (in case there remain some that haven't figured it out, it's an inside joke the circumstances of which I don't care to explain right now). Then I had to go to Bulgaria to visit my family, then college, and after that we both played rarely. Our passion for the game was dwindling, and if it wasn't for playing together I don't know if I would have been motivated to keep going, again. I think for both of us our passion for the game in general diminished, but was renewed once more with the advent of clan wars, and a finally functioning TM7 (that had enough members, lol). In the last few months clan wars were the best thing about this game. Once again we dipped into friend servers to scout out the maps and develop our famous (and stolen ) conquest strategies. Fighting side by side with you and 6 other extremely competent teammates was playing the game at its absolute best, the way you wish every server was. Now, at the end, clan wars will be the thing I miss most, but I guess I should save this part for my TM7 tribute.
For those that are newer to the game or somehow never played (and got killed repeatedly) with him, this guy is the original best archer in the game. He was to archers what I was to mages - a player so far ahead of his time, demolishing people because his understanding of the game and of his class were several levels above everyone else who was playing the game. He was the pioneer of modern archery. To this day he remains as arguably the best archer, and not because he has the absolute deadliest accuracy (though his accuracy is still damn good), but because he's smarter than everyone else. He's also the only person that I've shared all of my knowledge with, and the only person who I think knows as much about the game as I do.
Joppi, you're like a brother to me in this game. You're my best friend online. So while I bid farewell to this unique game which has been such a big part of my life for the past year and several months, I hope our bond can live on.
