I'm playing resident evil 5 with my buddy in college and it's fucking great, but most games today seem to only have online co-op, which is really annoying.
So anyway, do you guys know any good ones to recommend?
Preferences include but are not limited to shit that awesome when you're baked, and zombies. If you know of an awesome game that isn't one of those that's cool too.
Oh, and for ps3 or wii please. (and don't say conquest, the campaign sucked).

re5 has the best splitscreen.
there is "burn zombie burn". its an alright psn game. just kill waves of zombies. not as good as" zombie apocolypse", though im not sure if this has splitscreen, it may be online co-op only. ill have to check on that.
its true that most games have shifted to online co-op and backed away from the local multiplayer, which sucks. why cant they have both?
those two games just came to mind when i read "zombies", i have both of them. may be worth checking out.
and hack your wii !
edit: zombie apocolypse IS local multiplayer as well as online. (up to 4) burn zombie burn is splitscreen only (2 players) zombie apocolypse is the better of the two and probably has a greater 'baked' factor.

I'm not sure if you can get it for ps3, but L4D2 is really good.

I love Borderlands, and it does have splitscreen. The problem is that since it's half-RPG I'd imagine playing local co-op could get kind of annoying since you'll both be checking your menus kind of often to switch out weapons, go to shops, and mess with your stats. I know it's kind of annoying online ( you can't leave an area while someone's at a menu, and there's always some douche who is just hanging out at a shop for ten minutes ), but I guess it would be easier with someone actually there to yell at. Just make sure you don't both play the same class so you won't be fighting over weapons.
There's also some parts of the game that are just annoyingly hard without a full party of four. The enemies scale up in level depending on the number of people playing, but they don't really scale down enough if you're going solo. Some of the bosses are just near impossible without going online. You might be okay with just the two of you, or if you guys get really stuck just hop online to beat that one part.
Seriously though, there's a shitload more couch co-op options on the 360, which is the main reason I have the system. Only other thing I can think of for PS3 is Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, which is actually really fun with up to three buddies if you're even remotely a comic fan.

if you're any part hockey enthusiast, 3 on 3 Nhl arcade is a good co-op game (you can both play online at the same time).
Lotr Return of the King is good for co-op and those other early Lotr games, and they're probably dirt cheap now too.
