Whitedevil, the best way to get a headshot using a multishot is this: Knock opponent down with fire arrow, then run up to him and wait for him to stand up. When he stands up, wait for just half a second, ZOOM IN (very important to zoom in) to around his head level, and press L1. You don't even need to get a proper headshot. Just around the head would do, the multishot automatically grants you a headshot.
This is however, not a guarantee. Sometimes it just doesn't work. Don't worry, keep trying. Oh, and, remember to not go too close to the opponent. It seems to just give you a normal hit if you do this. Instead, stay just outside shockwave range.

I find being closer increases your odds of getting the multi head shot to work. That's just been with my experience in HTDM.

At jonathan.
Yes, being closer does help. But if you're so close that you can kick him, it means the headshot usually won't work.

I found a fun way to deal with mages up close but I'm sure more experienced archers have discovered this. Mages will always (if they're smart) approach an archer with their shield up, counting on the archer to get close enough to get a ground slam in. The shield is only effective on the outside, so if you can pop in, shoot a poison arrow inside the bubble and back the hell up, the mage will be hot-boxed in the poison, provided you keep the arrows coming to motivate continued use of the shield. At some point he'll need to heal so when he drops his shield to do so, thats when you hit em' with ol' explody. Remember that as long as the mage has his shield up, his heal and other powers do not recharge so it's best to use this technique just after a heal.

That will happen to me, as I'm typicall a mage, but Id say just using a fire arrow will be more effective. Then posion while he lays there. Then multi shot. Thats what I do. Works almost all the time imo.

Ok, now what's the best way to kill troll/ ent? I swear someone took me out in like 4 straight shots. I know critical hits are the key but I can never seem to keep up with their rate of healing.

Well matt, I consider myself to be slayer of Ents/Trolls with all classes and I find that with the archer, just find that sweet spot and keep hitting it with your specials. As soon as you see the full orange, green or blue circle, hit it. The fire arrow is usually the killing blow as a critical with it takes off about 20%. If a pesky mage is nearby healing him then you might run into trouble but if you keep the criticals rolling, your arrows will outrun his life. Every normal arrow strike bumps up your respective energys so don't let a second go by without using a special.

Hitting something with a normal arrow recharges your magic? God, no wonder I suck.

Yes normal arrow strikes refill your specials at least twice the rate. You can also shoot, dormant ents/trolls, horses/wargs and balistas for the same energy boost if there are no enemies to shoot at.

Normally they'll have the sheild up but once it's put down to heal or attack be prepared and use the fire arrow critical to kill the pesky mage.

Some of you may not realize this, but if you go to options and set your aim sensitivity to the lowest setting, you may find it easier to line up and aim your shots.
