first let me say that i'm happy it looks like onde is in, and i already have some good ideas for the first show with you as the guest gia.
as far as the tech aspect goes, turns out it's a massive pain in the ass. ironicly my upgrade to windows 7 is the source of my pain. apparently windows 7 does not allow the capture of audio output, meaning i can't record what i hear. but after looping my sound back into input i managed to capture both my voice and the sounds coming from my speakers. the only problem that remains is that my voice is massively louder than anything else.
i should be able to solve my volume balance problems tomorrow, hopefully i can turn down my mic sensitivity, if that fails i'll try a shittier mic. if i can succeed in balancing this volume not only can i do the show and interviews, but i'll actually be able to use live sound effects(such as youtube clips). doesn't sound like a big deal but it's actually the way i've invisioned the show from the start.
in summery, making very good progress, just need to balance the sound, and this show is really starting the turn out the way i've invisioned it. it seems like everything i want to do, i can do, it's all a matter of putting in this effort. but i can tell this show is going to be a lot of fun.

I'll co-host if you can get everything arranged. I'm just really disorganized at the moment, and am probably not very dependable . ... in other news, onde may be doing the show with me, ... Looks like uninformed consent. Swab down for chat surgery.

Swami, you should be able to record voices on your system without any loop-back stuff. I don't have Windows 7 so I can't help but I think it's a matter of finding the right program and configuration. Did you try Audacity? It always used to have "system mixer" option for recording audio input.

the reason i mentioned windows 7 being my downfall is because microsoft removed the ability to record what you hear. apparently the driver software for windows 7 does not allow you to do it, so i can't do it with audacity or anything else, i have to loop the sound.

Swami, did you read this? audacity.sourceforge.net/help/faq?s=recording&i=streamingI got mine working on XP with Audacity. Not sure how it will work on Windows 7 but I can try to get it working for you (using remote logon or something). It wasn't difficult on XP but is easier to do than to explain. I'm surprised if there's really a driver issue, but if there is, I can record. PM me in advance when you're getting ready to do it.

Onde's assistance have saved the show! All problems have been solved and we can do a test run; just as soon as Onde makes her next appearance when the full moon comes out again.
