There is now a way to enjoy the online play once again if you have the pc version of the game. Recently I was searching around and found that people had been using a program called Hamachi to connect and play Conquest. Hamachi connects players to a Network (LAN) and allows them to connect to other players around the world. All you need to do is download and install Hamachi from here: secure.logmein.com/US/products/hamachi2/download.aspxThen you need to join one of the conquest networks: Network ID: LOTR Conquest Server 1 Password: conquest Network ID: LOTR Conquest Server 2 Password: conquest Network ID: LOTR Conquest Server 3 Password: conquest After you have installed and joined a network you should be able to play against players who are also in the network via LAN. UPDATE: This has been confirmed by Mayhem on page 3 of this thread.

It does work, I was playing against another two guys earlier today. I thought there was slightly less lag than on the official servers as well.

I've read that it is possible to sync your PS3 controller to your PC, it is just a bluetooth device after all, but apparently you have to kind of jump through hoops to do it.

hmm, I'll definitely look into this. the PC version is about 10 bucks on ebay - might be worth a shot.
edit: if anyone else gets it and can confirm that it works, let us know.

There are programs to use your PS3 controller for the PC, and you don't even have to use Bluetooth. Just plug it in with the USB charger.

You can get it for five bucks on Amazon, maybe even with free shipping.
I don't think it runs on OSX though so I think I'm out.

I don't want to get my hopes up too much, but I am pretty excited. I'm gonna go get the pc version if I can find it in gamestop tomorrow. If not I'll just order it.
Joppi - links to said programs?

You can also use ps1/ps2 controllers on the pc. Simple use a ps2 to ps3 usb converter like the one for guitar hero.

If you want, you can buy and immediately download it here: www.direct2drive.com/6490/product/Buy-The-Lord-of-the-RingsI've ordered from them before and never had any problems. Also what's good about this site, is that you can redownload the game as many times as you like and therefore don't have to worry about losing / scratching the disk. I posted this at the lotr pc forum. Anyways someone replied and confirmed that this can be done, except that people with windows 7 had issues with connecting: www.tlf-guild.proboards.com/index....lay&thread=3474"Yes, some guys do this [use Hamachi] But the guys with windows 7 can't use it..."
