another thing people should know is that you can jump out of oliphants by pressing R1 again, as long as there is no one climbing on you.

Another thing is that the person doing the sabotage can still be killed with lightning, arrows, etc. while on the oliphaunt.

Don't bother unless the good team is basically camping your spawn and you have no way out. If you try to meet them half-way or at their spawn, they'll simply pull back slightly and you'll be useless. You'll actually be hurting your team at that point since you'll be getting in the way of archers.
Otherwise, just swing your tusks and adjust your facing to maximize the swing. You can press triangle to unleash a fire arrow barrage on random places around you (not sure if it targets enemies). It's not the best attack, but you might score a random kill (or kill your teammates).

doe the triangle actually hurt your teammates? I didn't think it did...
In any case, it's mad random with the aim. I rarely get hit by it. But it is good to do it all the time because it CAN hit someone and damage them, though more importantly it knocks them down, giving your teammates a chance to kill them or run away if they have to.

Use the "tusk sway" or whatever you call it for the relevant side that the enemy is on and do it just before they're in range. Square goes left first and circle goes right first. The delay usually allows you to hit them.
Also if you're on evil, running behind the olliphant is a good way to get up close and kill the good team. Just don't be like Cat-Tooth who always runs in front of the olliphant when I'm riding it =p
And like someone mentioned before, you can get off the olliphant if no one is riding it, but to add to that, get off it before it dies. You'll re-emerge as your class and with the health you had before jumping onboard.

Yes untow, Tooth does have the idiotic tendency to get in front of the oliphaunt. So do I. I like to stand in front when I'm practicing my archery at pellennor (my worst map) to camouflage, and suddenly some guy gets on it, and before I can move, he steps on me. Grrr

I remember when I was riding the Oliphaunt and singing:
"For this is waaaaar! I do not CARE who's side I'm on! I'll kill a troll or ent and trample scouts! and it was fun to start this war! MUAHAHAHAHA!!!!"
Note that this was NOT an online game. I'd never do that xD

Strangely enough, Nero, I sing a song too, when I'm backstabbing someone with wormtongue, but it's too dirty to post here.
And I dare you to sing it inline, with your mic on. When the server is full.
