This isn't over. Better see you on DMMM. Man we got f'd out of our servers though. Tried to play Aliens vs Predator & ended up in a match with 3 people after waiting 10 minutes for a match - 3 f'ing people in the whole world playing this brand new game on a Sunday evening & they shut down LOTRC which always had a few games going. What a robbery...

I tried DMMM, it isn't for me. Seems pretty laggy and just isn't the same as Lord of the Rings: Conquest....(Sigh)...I truly hope we all can find a game that is similar in style. I think the new Transformers game coming out MIGHT be promising. (Still...)

(Still...) swbf2 & dmmm will tie me over for the next few weeks. mime, burzum, blazing, jackrabbit, chub chub & experiment "que la fuerza te acompaƱe". I'm still hopelessly optimistic that lotrc will be back up.

Private matches are gone on LOTRC too, H3nry. DMMM is kinda fun when you have people to play with but I can't really take it seriously like I did LOTRC. No combos, no knock-downs, no auto-facing; it's more about selecting your skills and sticking together as a group. Maps are larger and more spread out, and the multiplayer modes are pretty cool (single player is pretty good too). I don't know if I can handle too much SWBF2.. to me it feels more outdated than classic and it's going offline in a couple weeks, too. But when I see people playing, I'll hop in their game.
I've actually started playing MW2 even though I never thought I would... but suddenly it seems a lot better now that I've tried some of the other MP games out there (and LOTRC looks REALLY GOOD). But again.. can't get into it in the same way as Conquest. Still looking for someone to try out AVP and Bioshock 2 with me. I also have Avatar but didn't really get into it yet.

swbf2 plays a little smoother on the original xbox, a trade off for accuracy of movement over HD looks. With Jedi dueling there's a real host advantage, walking out of combos, first to attack & recover (there's an in game connection meter very handy for gauging fair fights). The seasoned lightsabermen rely a lot on dashing & ambushing from building tops. However there's a bushwack free zone in the waters of Kashyyk ideal for 1v1 light saber clash. Pity there's only 2 1/2 weeks left of this game after 4 1/2 years (stacked with player & map options more so than lotrc). SWBF2 multiplayer on the Xbox may have a future with game tunelling services. I dont think MS will be too bothered as they're ending original xbox support (bigger fish to fry with the upandcoming natal). I've got an eye on Bad Co 2 (bit more of a halo romp feel to it than MW2)

No combos, no knock-downs, no auto-facing; it's more about selecting your skills and sticking together as a group. your right about sticking together, priority to find a team mate before killing opponents. From the demo the warriors are limited but i think there's some scope for chaining specials, but incomparable to the warrior beasting seen in lotrc.

The warrior in the Actual game can Support as well, giving more armor and health etc.. with added attack and ambush skills. Once you get used to it, you can easily kill 1 v 2 with a class your good at. Theres hundreds of tactics with each class, Freeze then fireball (mage) is just one, or charge then sleep (warrior is another), Blinding arrow and trueshot (archer) is yet another. You need the game to get the full range of skills and create a hero that best suits you. The demo is more of a tutorial than a game, just something to teach the basics. OH GOD dont judge the game on the demo. The demo just tells you, how to use a skill, the basic controls, what the classes are, gameplay, gives a taste of the maps. The skills in the demo aren't really that good. The game is so much better with more maps, modes, skills and a single player campaign. For you Conquest mode lovers theres a mode called 'crusade', where theres a team in a fort and a team out, the team outside invades and captures Points, to decrease the enemys score. The defenders must defend the fort and recapture points lost. Alot of fun if im honest You only need 8 people to start a ranked match and the ranked achievements are so easy, your earn them without noticing. Theres also DLC to unlock new armor, weapons and two new classes Warlock and Paladin.

I've got the full game not really given dmmm multiplayer a fair go, I'm still squeezing the life out of swbf2 (last online chance at a lotrc 3rd person style melee class with the jedi & sith).
