Point whoring like redwurd described is completely ridiculous. I completely agree with red.
On the other hand, in CONQUEST mode, there sometimes happens a phase in battles where the two teams will run around taking bases. Some people think this is point-whoring or pussy playing.
I personally think it is just a phase of the battle. You'll notice it always comes to an end at some point.
I usually run around with the group for a while, getting bases, trying to be faster than the other team so that my team might obtain a superior number of bases or what not. But if it goes on for too long, I try to go sabotage the other sides party and see if I can stop the rhythm.
So that's my little disclaimer as far as point-whoring in conquest mode goes.
Back to what redwurd said, though, I agree.

I just wait to where I know the other team is going and fight against them. Hopefully I'm able to slow them down and help my team.

really its the players wanting personal gain over actually trying to help win the game, like a million hobbits protecting the shire, mages at minas tirith top ctr, any conquest(especially rivendell), that's why tdm seems the best in terms of cheap playing, and gaining trophies with a friend and not through regular rooms can be considered whoing

Ya that is another example. If the trolls can even get close to the good spawn, due to all the sniping hobbit archers & the horses that can run you down! The right combination of hobbit archers & horses can shut down any advancing troll parade. From my experience I believe that Evil having just come off of the three worst maps for Evil (generally speaking): Black Gates, Osgiliath, and Mt. Doom, where Gandalfs & mages seem to multiply & pwn Evil (not all the time but a vast majority the time), Evil is venting out in angry retribution by spawn killing. Doesn't make it right (it can be a bit therapeutic tho after being Gandho'd to death lol) and I will back off, and on mic tell them to stop. for me if evil wins osgiliath while im playing they also tend to win mt doom, shire and minas tilirth everything becomes even after pellenor on rare occasions ive seen losses for evil side but usually its cause they lost osgiliath i dont know why (maybe an overal troop morale decides the fight on ceirtain occasions)

Well Good has the beginning advantage in Osgiliath with their spawn on the bridge. If there are one ore two decent archers (yes I realize that some of you will chortle because you will say "there is no such thing as a decent archer!") they can effectively stop evil with a hail of arrows. I think that evil has a tougher time of it, and it is quite satisfying to be evil and win there, but the hardest for evil in the mix is Mt. Doom & the Black Gates. Evil has to work soooo much harder there to prevent the slaughter that all the Gandho's wish to unleash upon.

That's why i hate nex's class training at osgiliath-i always have to run up the stairs only tho have to fight someone who has a bone with me, nex, and the mage who heals nexsus.

o.O when did this happen and i have class training? though i dont mind training with people. id love to help out new coming scouts and prepare them mentaly for baiting enemies. yes the bridge is an great position but if evil can capture both the lower areas you can preform an effective pincer on the enemy the formation i had in mind would be 2 mages and a warrior going for left capture point at the fork after evils spawn area 1 archer and 1 scout going for the right spawn point( this division is much weaker since good tends to make a priorty to capture the point down the wooden ramp) and the rest head for the bridge to control the archers that are shooting the mage/ warrior group.
if it successfully happens the archers will need to get behind goods spawn area while the rest of the forces capture the bridge.
If only one point was captured you would need to send aty the minimum of 2 people to slow down good from capturing evils first spawn area while the remaining forces split into two kill the straglers that arnt in the main good group and capture two points at a time ( be sure to also check for lone people who try to capture single areas
if both areas fail to be captured by evil then good will proabably encircle the evil spawn point ( in which you must delay the capture of the last point while some one attempts a bridge capture) beware of archer camping at the bridge though

I agree that this is unnecessary, because there is no point in it whatsoever.
I'd rather them just SCORE and end the game than sit there killing everyone over and over again. =/
